Today is National Dog Day! Looks like it's been happening for the last 11 years! Wow, only eleven years? Dogs have been man's best friend for way longer than that.
Rather than repeat all the many tributes already out there, we at Carolina Helping Paws Rescue just want to take a moment today to gently remind you to hug your dog a little extra today! If you have more than one dog, hug them all a little extra.
As you can see, Hurley and Claire love hugs and snuggles and this photo truly expresses the sentiment we in rescue have for all dogs - yours, ours, and all those out there who still need homes.
There are things in life that are FREE! This blog today is about gratitude! Showing gratitude is FREE! It doesn't cost the receiver a thing to show gratitude and it really goes a long way to the giver who most definitely deserves to be thanked. So, today let me say THANK YOU to the following:
* THANK YOU to the supporters who helped this website get over 200 hits since we launched about a week ago!
* THANK YOU to the supporters who have shared their hard earned dollars with the rescue and allowed our volunteers to help the homeless, abandoned dogs in the community
* THANK YOU to the fosters who enable the rescue to even exist in the community! YOUR hearts and made of gold and the love you graciously share is extremely appreciated and we are grateful you are a part of our organization!
* THANK YOU to those who have adopted from our rescue! You will always be a special part of the rescue alumni and we wish you many years and memories with your new family member
Welcome to the Blog! Sometimes we just need to rant and feel heard. Rescue will be rewarding at times and heartbreaking at other times. I hope you find the sweet and the sour brings a smile to your face. Our disclaimer is that sometimes we will rant, and sometimes we will possibly offend some by our lack of candor and possible blatant accusations when we call out the morons who abuse or neglect or harm companion animals or otherwise just make our blood boil. If you can tolerate a little of that, then please come by often!
